The president of the United States, Donald Trump, told Nicolás Maduro to lead “drug trafficking networks” in the region, while defending the operations of the US army in the South Caribbean.
«We started using the Supreme Force of the United States Army to destroy Venezuelan terrorists and drug trafficking networks led by Nicolás Maduro. To every terrorist who smuggled to toxic drugs to the United States of America, we warn them that we will erase them from existence », affirmed Trump during his participation in the 80th General Assembly of the United Nations, which is held in New York.
Since the beginning of September, after the deployment of several destroyers in the Caribbean, US has carried out at least four attacks against ships suspected of transporting drugs. In the first two, Trump confirmed the death of 14 people who, they said, are Venezuelans and trafficked in the name of the Aragua train. In the last attack reported, three people were reported.
Precisely, the American president pointed to the Aragua Train and the MS13, designated as terrorist organizations, of being “enemies of all humanity” and being in charge of murders, torture, in addition to drug trafficking.
According to US authorities, just over 3,600 kilos of drugs have been seized in these operations, which have the approval of several countries in the region. On the Venezuelan side, Maduro and his officials have rejected the links with drug trafficking and have indicated that by Venezuela, based on UN reports, 5% of the drug addressed to the US is barely transitted.
In his speech, Trump assured that the offensive in the Caribbean has drastically reduced the maritime flow of drugs to the United States.

On the other hand, Trump lashed out at the United Nations and migration. He pointed to the multilateral organism to finance an “attack” against the West when supporting mass migration.

He defended the arrests and deportations of migrants and described his efforts as a “humanitarian act,” because he said that he saved people who could otherwise have died trying to cross the American border illegally.
He also said that he has put an end to seven “endless wars” thanks to the participation of the United States in the negotiation of agreements, claiming that the UN was not present to help in the negotiations.
