Santo Domingo.– Dominicans will receive the New Year this Wednesday, December 31, under a forecast of downpours and with several provinces on alertdue to the incidence of a frontal system or cold front that will interact with a trough located in the Caribbean Sea.
The Dominican Institute of Meteorology (Indomet) reported that, given these conditions, a green alert level is maintained for the provinces of San Pedro de Macorís, Santo Domingo, San Cristóbal and the National District.
According to the forecasting agency, the combination of both phenomena will generate increases in cloudiness and downpours in provinces in the east, northeast, south and central region of the country, including La Altagracia, La Romana, Hato Mayor, Monte Plata, Juan Sánchez Ramírez, Samaná, El Seibo, Peravia, Duarte, Azua, San José de Ocoa, La Vega, Barahona and Pedernales.
