Santo Domingo.- The Dominican Republic, through the General Directorate of Government Ethics and Integrity (DIGEIG)will participate in the IX Global Summit of the Alliance for Open Governmentwhich will be held from October 6 to 10 in Vitoria, Spain, with a delegation headed by the doctor Miracles Ortiz Boschwhich will reaffirm your Commitment to transparencycitizen participation and accountability.
In a press release, the entity reported that within the framework of this meeting, the country will assume a leading role by officially integrating into steering Committee of OGP for the 2025–2028 period, with which it will consolidate its international leadership in open government.
In that sense, he explained that the Dominican Republic will present its recent advances in terms of Open Governmentwhich includes the VI Open Government Action Plan 2024-2028 and the National Strategy of Civic Space 2025-2028, the latter a commitment assumed by the President Luis Abinader During the VIII Global Summit in Tallín, Estonia, in 2023.
The DIGEIG also added that as a Dominican representative, he will take advantage of this space to exchange experiencesstrengthen international alliances and reinforce the commitment of the Dominican Republic with the principles of open government.
He indicated that the summit will serve as a platform to promote open government valuesas well as to exchange experiences, good practices and advances in transparency initiativescitizen participation and public innovation.
The delegation is made up of the director of Transparency and Open Government, Elizabet dayz, the communications director, Paola Cabrera and the fact of the access offices to public information, María Fernanda de los Santos.
