With the aim of strengthening the country’s brand on foreign soil through exchanges, the Chamber of Commerce of the Dominican Republic in Italy (CCRDI) was launched this Friday.
During an activity held in a restaurant in the city of Santo Domingo, the launch of the CCRDI was carried out with the participation of several government and business authorities from both nations.
CCRDI is an entity that does not pursue profit-making purposes, but rather has a clear objective that its activities favor and contribute to the development of bilateral relations between the Dominican Republic and Italy.
The presentation was given by Nancy Polanco, president of the CCDI, who explained the fundamental role of the institution, which has as one of its essential purposes, to develop activities to contribute to commercial, industrial, agricultural, and financial relations, collaborations in agreements between universities, similarly between Italian and Dominican entities or institutions.
Polanco also highlighted that the CCRDI carries out bilateral promotion between both countries, developing commercial and social projects between Italy and the Dominican Republic, favoring the increase of collaboration between both countries.
The president of the trade association said that one of the fundamental objectives of the CCRDI will be to undertake, organize, sponsor and promote activities of an institutional, commercial, cultural, social and scientific nature, by establishing bonds of friendship between Italy and the Dominican Republic.
Mrs. Polanco also pointed out that through collaboration with the competent authorities and, in particular, with the diplomatic and consular authorities of both countries, this is the most important mission of the Chamber of Commerce of the Dominican Republic in Italy.
Nancy Polanco also announced that the CCDI will have its new office in Santo Domingo, National District, on José Gabriel García Street, in the Colonial Zone.
The president of the CCRDI stated that this is the first time that a 100 percent Dominican Chamber of Commerce is present in its nation of origin, with the purpose of strengthening commercial, cultural and educational ties between the Dominican Republic and a foreign country, in this case Italy.
Polanco said that the Dominican Republic Chamber of Commerce in Italy has a significant value, because it contributes to the country in all the sectors present.
“This important event for the presentation of the CCRDI is accompanied by the notable presence of important authorities from both countries who support this unique initiative, carried out for the first time in the Dominican Republic with another nation, creating a precedent for all other Dominican chambers of commerce in the world to join our country of origin and be supported by the Institutions,” concluded Nancy Polanco.
