Pepillo Salcedo, Montecristi. In a maritime operation carried out on the coasts of Montecristithe Dominican Republic Navy (A.R.d) intercepted an artisanal vessel from Haitiwhich carried out activities of unreported fishing and not regulated in waters under national jurisdiction.
During the intervention, the authorities they arrested three Haitian citizens in an irregular immigration situation, who were handed over to the General Directorate of Migration for the corresponding legal procedures.
The vessel, which is in custody at the Puerto Manzanillo Command, was detained as part of the measures aimed at protecting the country’s maritime resources.

The Navy reiterated its commitment to defensesa of the maritime interests of the Dominican Republic, underlining its effort to strengthen security in the coasts and firmly combat illegal activities that put the sustainability of the natural resources and order in national waters.
