Dominican Consul Miami presents priorities in work program with diaspora

Miami Florida. The Consul General of the Dominican Republic in the city of Miami, Geanilda Vasquezaffirmed that his management will reinforce the essential points for more than 250,000 Dominicans residing in Florida.

Vásquez, who recently took office, stated in a press release: “Our management will follow the guidelines that characterize the president Luis Abinader. This is to promote actions that are directed to the benefit of the country and the people of Quisqueyan abroad”.

The consul in Miami presented her work program to the community, which includes the creation of an export and import center. She also international agreements with companies, universities and ministries. She said that she will manage agreements “so that Dominicans in Florida can benefit from the facilities that are already being applied in the country in different areas.”

In that order, he also affirmed that he will start new programs within the framework of continuity in other consulates in Florida.

The consul’s statements were made during a meeting with representatives of non-profit institutions, community leaders and the local press. At that meeting, she considered her management as “a total opening for Dominicans and a rapprochement with the consulate.”

During his presentation, he thanked God for his appointment and then President Abinader. He indicated: “I assume the position with the willingness to work for and for the Dominican community in Miami.”

He says he wants to hear

“Before starting, I want to listen,” said Consul Vásquez. She then pointed out: “This is part of a rapprochement policy.” She also mentioned her proposal called “passion for service”. With it, he will seek to promote dialogue with all the active forces of Dominicans in Florida.

He said that in the new consular management that he heads, he ordered the development of a schedule for the activities. Also that all Dominicans can follow up, participate and help to fulfill the scheduled tasks. Priority will be given to tasks “that are directly involved with the development of the country.”

In this order, Dr. Vásquez indicates: “Activities will be encouraged to keep patriotic values ​​alive among the diaspora. Commemorative events and other constitutional actions will be held. It will also motivate you to register and continue strengthening democracy in the country.

He announced that outstanding Dominicans in Miami will be recognized and presented as an example. For this, a jury will be created that will be in charge of knowing the actions of the candidates for recognition. The final opinion will be issued by voting.

He concluded: “We are going to be accessible, listening and responding to needs. We will make services more convenient and easily accessible. We will reduce their costs, thereby achieving equality and regularization.”
