Dominican Central Bank to issue RD$25 bill

He central bank of the Dominican Republic (BCRD) announced today that, starting Thursday, August 1, 2024, the following documents will be in circulation: 25 peso coinsyear 2023.

He reported that these coins have the same characteristics as the current 25 pesos, varying only the year of minting, which will maintain their liberating force for the payment of all the public obligations and private.

Characteristics

He central bank It offers explanations of the characteristics of the 25 peso coins. For example: the obverse bears the engraved effigy of Gregorio Luperón, in the centre in profile to his right, with the inscription of the word “Luperón” on his left shoulder and below, bordering his bust, the inscription “Hero of the Restoration”.

  • On the top edge it has the legend “central bank of the Dominican Republic”, and in the exergue the corresponding year of issue. These inscriptions are separated by a sword, allegorical to the restoration feat.

On the reverse, the coin is engraved with the National Emblem slightly shifted to the right, flanking on the left by the value sign “25”, and below said shield the word “pesos”.

On the right periphery is engraved the inscription “Dominican Republic” flanked on the right.
