Dominican appointed as new general director and CEO of Claro Dominicana

Grupo América Móvil appointed the licensee Carlos Jose Cueto Stefani as new general director and CEO to direct the Claro Dominicana telephone company, replacing the engineer Rogelio Viesca Arrache.

Cueto Stefani will assume his position as of December 1 of this year.

According to an institutional note, Cueto Stefani has more than 25 years of experience in the telecommunications industry. At Claro, he has held various positions in the areas of Marketing, Product Development, Sales and International Business. At the time of his appointment, he was in charge of the Vice Presidency of Management and Development of Solutions, Interconnection and International Services.

As for the engineer Viesca, he will assume new responsibilities directing a strategic project of the corporation in Mexico, in recognition of the work carried out in Claro Dominicana since his arrival in the country in September 2018.

“This promotion represents an important step in his trajectory of almost 30 years in the group, where he has held leadership positions in different countries of the region,” the statement cites.

More about Carlos Cueto

He graduated in Business Administration from Lynn University, in Florida, United States. He has completed postgraduate studies in Finance and Marketing at the Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra.

Among other specializations, he has completed executive programs at prestigious academic institutions, such as the Kellogg School of Business at Northwestern University, in the United States.
