The president of Guatemala, Alexander Giammattei, officially received the first flight of Arajet, the new low-priced Dominican airline, which will connect this country directly with the Dominican Republic as of September 28.
The announcement was made at the Guatemalan government house where the president met with the executive president of the Dominican airline, Victor Pachecowho reported that initially the route will be served with two weekly frequencies, on Wednesdays and Sundays, and that in the near future it could be increased.
“We are very excited to be able to land in Guatemala, and very honored to be received by President Giammattei, who together with his team have been key to making the direct connection between our countries a reality and allowing millions of Dominicans and foreigners to enjoy the cultural and natural wealth that Guatemala has, and in the same way that millions of Guatemalans can travel for the first time on direct flights of less than three hours, nonstop and at low prices to our beautiful Dominican Republic,” said Pacheco.
He reported that Guatemala City is currently Arajet’s fourth best-selling destination.

What is Arajet?
arajet is an ultra low-cost Dominican airline. It is headquartered in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Operations are scheduled to begin on September 15, 2022, with routes to Mexico, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Colombia, Peru, and other Caribbean islands.
Dominican Republic Week
Dominican Week will be celebrated from August 29 to 31in Guatemala City, during which events and meetings will be held to strengthen ties between the Dominican Republic and Guatemala at the economic, commercial, social, academic and cultural levels.
