Domingo Pérez: "If Mark Vito decides to leave Peru, there is no measure that prevents it"

Jose Domingo Perezprosecutor of the Lava Jato special team, pointed out that, in the case of Mark Vito Villanella, ex-partner of the leader of Fuerza Popular, Keiko Fujimori, decide to leave Peru, there is no exit impediment measure to stop you. This in reference to the investigation against Mark Vito and Keiko Fujimori for the Cocktails case.

Pérez recalled that the Public Ministry affirmed that there was a risk of flight of Mark Vito Villanellabut that said argument was not taken into account by the Judiciary, that declared unfounded the cassation appeal filed so that the former presidential candidate return to pretrial detention.

“The Prosecutor’s Office held him (danger of flight of Mark Vitus), and the Judiciary was of the opinion that there was no such danger, with respect to leaving the country. If Mr. Mark Vito decides to leave Peruvian territory, there is no measure that prevents it. The Prosecutor’s Office, in the accusation, has requested the impediment of departure with the appearance with restrictions for Mark Vito, ”he declared during an interview on Canal N last Thursday.

At another point, the Special Team prosecutor spoke of a possible request for an exit ban against Mark Vito. In this regard, he recalled that this measure had already been proposed and pointed out that, if this request does not advance, it is due to the delay in holding face-to-face hearings.

“We have practically returned to all social activities, and that the Power of attorney does not want to return to face-to-face activity, because it worries those of us who have to support important and emblematic cases, ”he added.
