The domestic workers they will earn a salary of RD$$10,000 per month, will work eight hours a day, will have health insurance and must contribute to Social Security, in accordance with the resolutions of the Ministry of Labor (MT) to formalize these jobs and that will come into effect after three months of their publication in the press.
This seeks to impact 245,102 employees who work in domestic service (92% are women). In 2021, 226,262 jobs for women and 18,840 jobs for men were generated in domestic service. However, their average salary is RD$8,415 per month, 57% less than the monthly income of all employed people in the country. And a 94% work under verbal contract.
These resolutions recognize the following rights: minimum salary of RD$10,000; contracts must be registered with the Social Security Treasury and the General Directorate of Labor (DGT).
It limits working hours to no more than eight hours a day and no more than 44 hours a week. They are entitled to paid vacations after one year without work interruptions (14 working days) and daily and weekly rest must be established.

Social Security contributors
Indicates that the government, together with the social sectors, has approved a pilot plan for them to be included in the Dominican Social Security System under the Subsidized Contributory Regime, with a fixed contribution scheme, regardless of how much the salary is.
The fixed contribution will always be the same and is divided as follows: RD$571.50 is paid by the employer and RD$28.50 is paid by the worker. For a total of RD$600.00, plus a State contribution of RD$259.43 to finance the SS benefits.
In cases where the worker has more than one job, the fixed contribution will be paid by each of the employers.
With this, the direct dependents of the employee will benefit from the survival pensions. These employees will have Family Health Insurance (SFS)disability and survival insurance, occupational risk insurance (SRL) and solidarity pensions for old age.
And it prohibits private employment agencies from applying any type of discount to the remuneration of domestic workers in order to secure their fees.
Likewise, domestic work of persons under 18 years of age is also prohibited, as this activity is considered dangerous and unhealthy in accordance with conventions 138 and 182 of the International Labor Organization (ILO), the Work codeas well as other complementary regulations issued in the country for such purposes.
