In the process of organizing the Summit of the Americas, there are those who do not want it to take place and others who seek the failure of this continental meeting, said President Andrés Manuel López Obrador.

During his morning conference, he asserted that these sectors do not think about the possibility of this act as a factor that contributes to unity in the region.

For the president, the debate on the inclusion or not of all the countries in the area has led to considerations highly ideological; there is fanaticism, dogmas predominate and people are not thought of. This should not only be a matter for the top echelons of economic and political power, not even for the so-called internationalist experts, who have opinions and opinions.

He wondered again: Where are the nations that are intended to be excluded from this meeting (Cuba, Nicaragua and Venezuela, which he did not expressly mention)? In this logic, it is not known which continent they are from. Therefore, he disqualified the position of some specialists, that more it seems that they are used as transmission belts of some agencies or political parties.

-Would you agree with the possibility of not inviting the presidents of Venezuela or Cuba, but rather some representation?

–Let’s wait; let’s not advance eve. There are a lot of leaks,” she requested.

On the other hand, he practically ruled out having planned a new international tour in the remainder of his six-year term, especially to Latin America. He stressed that Mexico has very good relations even with those governments with which there is not so much ideological affinity, as is the case with Ecuador, whose president (Guillermo Lasso) is of banking origin.

In this context, López Obrador spoke out for the next elections in Colombia to be held in peace. To the extent of our possibilities, of our limitations, we want the people of Colombia to choose their next president freely and, above all, peacefully. I believe that Colombians would once again give an example to the world if the elections take place in peace; whoever is betting on violence is acting against that great country and that extraordinary people.

He mentioned that there is a great relationship with Argentina, whose president, Alberto Fernández, “is our brother; Luis, Fought Arce (president of Bolivia), like this (and he gave himself a squeeze as a sign of a fraternal embrace), we have a lot of affection for each other, we are companions”. He also highlighted the close bond with his Chilean counterpart, Gabriel Boric, and Peruvian Pedro Castillo.
