The government of Mexico published in the Official Gazette of the Federation (DOF) the authorized 2025 budget calendar for the Ministry of Public Education (SEP).
This year, the budget will be 465 thousand 871 million 888 thousand 417 pesos and in June it plans to exercise its largest allocation with 73 thousand 11 million 525 thousand 161 pesos, destined mainly for programs such as Escuela es Nuestra, which will have a budget of 25 billion pesos that will be distributed mainly during the months of June with 11 thousand 242 million 230 thousand 682, and in May with 11 thousand 069 million 819 thousand 855.
During 2025, this program includes basic and upper secondary schools, in accordance with the Comprehensive Plan of the National Baccalaureate System of the New Mexican School. The goal is to reach 6,200 high school schools out of the 18,718 in the country, and will allocate an investment of 4,600 million pesos.
The national coordination of scholarships for Benito Juárez Welfare will have just over 132,278,497,058 pesos, which includes basic and upper secondary education students. Of this amount, 38,232,574,465 will be exercised in June, followed by December, October and April, with funds above 20 billion each.
For the National Polytechnic Institute (IPN), as a deconcentrated body, the approved amount is 22 thousand 109 million 118 thousand 188 pesos. Unlike other centers, the Polytechnic will distribute the resource in a similar way throughout the 12 months, on average it will use 2 billion pesos per month. The IPN is contemplated in this government’s strategy to expand student enrollment at higher level. This institute has the goal of opening 30 thousand new places in the next six years.
Another organization considered to expand its enrollment is the National Technology of Mexico, which will have the goal of opening 85 thousand new places. This institution will have a resource of 22,475,234,514 pesos this year, which will distribute its largest item in November with 3,284,082,312.
For the Colegio de Bachilleres there will be a resource of 2 thousand 332 million 579 thousand 614 pesos, the largest amount of which will be distributed will be in December with 310 million 254 thousand 401 pesos. While the Metropolitan Autonomous University will have 9,796,853,283 pesos, the largest amount it will distribute will be in August with 1,147,8,168 pesos.
