The Brasileirao starts this weekend with a very small number of candidates for the title: Atlético Mineiro, which is the reigning champion, Flamengo and, perhaps, Palmeiras will jump on the bandwagon, because with Abel Ferreira they have played everything to the Cups and nothing has gone wrong, with two Libertadores in a row. The rest will try to enter the Libertadores. This collective desertion is unusual and breaks with the maxim that there is no more disputed league and with more big teams than the Brazilian one.
