Documents published to contract technical feasibility of two key railway projects

The National Infrastructure Agency (ANI) published the final specifications for the contracting of the technical feasibility of two key railway projects. These initiatives are part of the Government’s strategy to revive this type of transport, which is why they have been classified as of national importance.

This is the Bogotá Region Connection with the Central Railway corridor and the Pacific corridor in the Buenaventura-Palmira section (Valle del Cauca). In both cases, the conditions to carry out these infrastructure works They are available on the Secop II portal.

According to ANI, the connection between the metropolitan region of Bogotá-Cundinamarca and the corridor
Central Railway, It has an extension of 393 kilometers of railway track. For this initiative, a budget estimated at $91,164 million was available.

Meanwhile, the Pacific corridor project It will have an approximate extension of 120 kilometers and the consulting for technical feasibility has a budget of $53,266 million.

With the publication of the specifications, it is expected that all investors, consulting companies and other interested parties will present observations to advance with the award process before the end of this year.

In that sense, the opening of offers is scheduled for next November 6, according to the established schedule; while The signing of the contract is projected for December 23, 2025.

It is worth remembering that in the middle of August, The National Government prioritized six railway projects. These were: Interoceanic Corridor, Pacific OP (Yumbo – Caimalito), Pacific Corridor (Buenaventura – Palmira), Villavicencio – Puerto Gaitán, Bogotá Region Connection with the central railway corridor and the Bogotá – Belencito corridor.

Together, the initiatives require an investment of more than 94 billion pesos in Capex.
