Doctors across the country radicalize their pressure measures in demand for the census to be carried out in 2023. When Santa Cruz celebrates the 18th day of indefinite unemployment, the sector complies this Tuesday with a 24-hour sit-down strike.
The president of the Santa Cruz Medical College, Wilfredo Anzoátegui, indicated that the health system is totally broken and that is due to the lack of economic resources that have not been distributed according to the population of each department. To this is added that the staff is insufficient, the provision of items has been one of the main demands of the sector in recent years.
For his part, Health Minister Jeyson Auza, from La Paz, lamented that the attention of the national health system is interrupted by “political interests of some authorities.” “This is not the time for these types of measures. We are going to take the necessary administrative actions to guarantee access to health and the corresponding sanctions for health personnel, who irresponsibly dares to deny access to health to our people”said the authority.
Health protocol for whooping virus
The Minister of Health, Jeison Auza, stated that in order to unify criteria to combat a new outbreak of whooping cough or whooping cough, an official document has been delivered to all departmental health services throughout the country. Currently, Santa Cruz registers four cases of a disease that was considered eradicated, since according to the authority the last case was reported in 2013.
This Tuesday at a press conference in the city of La Paz, Auza pointed out that 700 officials have been trained in the capital of Santa Cruz and 400 in the rest of the country to deal with the disease. Likewise, he highlighted the importance of having a complete vaccination schedule for minors to protect them. In the case of adults, who in case of being infected do not present serious symptoms but can transmit, it is important that in the presence of whooping cough they should go to a health center.
