Hundreds of people marched to National Congress in demand of profound modifications to the Social Security Law 87-01 and improvement in the rates of professionals who provide their services to affiliates.
Likewise, doctors paralyzed services in clinics and hospitals for 24 hours, which affected system affiliates.
The march started from the headquarters of the Dominican Medical College (CMD) and after touring the streets, they arrived at the front of the National Congress. The protesters marched with banners and shouted slogans against the inequities that have been generated by implementing a biased basic plan.
At the head of the protest was the doctor Rufino Senen Caba, president of the Dominican Medical College (CMD) and representatives of the 56 Specialized Societies. The health professionals demanded the elimination of the Health Risk Administrators and the Pension Fund Administrators.

However, these demands are not part of the proposals that the Medical Association delivered a week ago.
The activity was attended by former presidents of the CMD, such as Dr. Waldo Ariel Serum. At the same time that the march was taking place, they stopped assisting patients in clinics and hospitals. The march started from the CMD, then the doctors went up Abraham Lincoln avenue, Bolívar avenue, until they take Jiménez Moya, up to the National Congress
