Doctors from the main axis of the country carry out a 24-hour strike that left several patients who arrived at hospitals unattended, while the Government denounced a destabilizing plan.

According to a report from the Unitel network, at the Japanese hospital in Santa Cruz, some 50 people got up early in search of care, without success. A similar situation was experienced at the Clínicas hospital in La Paz, where there were long lines of people seeking care. The measure is followed in first, second and third level establishments.

However, at the 9 de Abril polyclinic of the Caja Nacional de Salud (CNS), care was normal.

The executive secretary of the doctors, Freddy Fernández, informed that they await the convocation of the Ministry of Health from April 18 to dialogue, but that until now they have not been summoned.

“We continue betting on dialogue, we hope that we will meet. It is simply a decision of the Ministry of Health and Sports,” he denounced.

Given this scenario, the director of Insurance of the Ministry of Health, María Bolivia Rothe, assured that the Medical College promotes a “destabilizing agenda” against the government of Luis Arce.

“As always, the Medical Association has a way of acting with a destabilizing agenda towards the Government. Now they change the agenda where they included other points, where they asked for the repeal of the ministerial resolution of the installation of the health emergency in Bolivia,” he said.

The authority warned that the Government must act in accordance with current regulations. “Hospitals cannot be closed, all health establishments have to attend without paralyzing, the Government must act in accordance with the law.”

The main demand of the National Health Council (Conasa) is the appointment of professionals directly and without merit competition and rejects that the salary increase is inversely proportional in the health sector.
