He Dominican College of Surgeons (CDC) awarded the Master of Dominican Surgery Award 2026 to Dr. Nicolás Rizik Cabral, in a ceremony held on the night of January 10, 2026 at the Santo Domingo Marriott Piantini Hotel.
The event was part of the commemorative activities of the National Surgeon’s Day and gathered medical authoritiesmembers of the CDC Board of Directorsformer presidents of the institution, renowned surgeons, guests and family members.
The ceremony began with the intonation of Dominican National Anthem and the words of the master of ceremonieswho highlighted the historical value of this distinctionconsidered the highest awarded by the school.
He CDC presidentdoctor Jiomar Figueroa Germosénoffered the welcome speechnoting that the award recognizes both the professional career such as ethical integrity, leadership and commitment with medical training in the country.
The semblance of the Dr. Nicolás Rizik Cabral was presented by the doctor Ceferino Brachewho addressed his professional careerhis role in the training of generations of surgeons and his contribution to the development of surgery in Dominican Republic.
Later, the doctor Nelson Encarnacion read the parchment that formalizes the recognition, and the doctor Heriberto Rodríguez Bone He directed the central investiture ceremony, which included the unveiling of the official photograph of the honoree and the imposition of the distinctive band.

During his speech, the Dr. Rizik Cabral expressed his gratitude for the recognition and reiterated his commitment with the principles that guide medical practice, teaching and service to society.
