Santo Domingo. – The director of the National Health Service (SNS), Dr. Mario Lama, appointed as the new director of the Francisco Moscoso Puello Teaching Hospitalto Dr. María Argentina Germán.
Dr. Germán, since October 2020, has served as deputy director of the care center, where she has held other management positions, including head of the Pediatric Service for 14 years, from 2006-2020.
The doctor was sworn in this Monday in his new functions, by the director of the Metropolitan Regional Health Service (SRSM), Dr. Edisson Feliz, who urged him to work with dedication and care, as he has been doing from the deputy directorate, to strengthen services demanded by hospital users.
On her side, Dr. Germán assured that she has a good relationship with the healthcare and administrative staff, who have been receptive and have welcomed the initiatives that she has implemented so far, showing significant changes in the center, among them, the reduction in absenteeism stands out. 99% labor.
“We are also educating the community, our users, about the behavior that we must maintain within the health establishment, especially around emergency assistance so that they understand when a health situation can wait and when not,” he explained.
María Argentina Germán replaces Dr. Rafael Camilo García, who ceased his duties as interim director of the important tertiary care hospital in the capital.
Dr. Germán is a pediatrician, with a specialty in Preventive and Social Pediatrics and a master’s degree in Food and Nutrition.
She is also a trade unionist, she is the first woman to occupy the regional presidency of the Dominican Medical Collegein the National District, and was president of the Dominican Society of Pediatrics where he has also held different positions, in various directives.
