Relatives and friends of Pamela Almánzar, who died after undergoing cosmetic procedures performed without her consent by Dr. Edgar Contreras, denounced the surgeon and demanded justice. During the wake, they accused the doctor of being responsible for several similar deaths.
“This is not the first one he has killed, there are several. We ask for justice,” said one of the young woman’s close friends.
Pamela’s father was forceful in his statements, ensuring that “there are many (people) who are buried” due to this doctor’s practices, and affirmed that “there is evidence of that.”
Likewise, he described Dr. Contreras as “an inexperienced butcher” and reflected on the need to withdraw his license to avoid more tragedies. “We must take away his power as a doctor,” he emphasized.
Between the pain and the indignationsome of those present made direct calls to the authorities to take immediate measures. “If they don’t do justice, we are going to do it with our own hands,” warned a visibly affected person.
Another attendee urged political leaders to act: “We ask the authorities to please take action on the matter. Faride, we call on the president.”
