In a statement, the agency reported that with the RFC, compatriots will be able to carry out procedures such as opening bank accounts in national territory, buying and selling land, notarial procedures, school procedures, social security procedures, social programs, among others.
How to process the RFC if you live abroad
Among the requirements to request registration in the SAT RFC registry are:
Register an appointment at https://citas.sat.gob.mx/ select the Virtual Office Registration option, and choose “Registration of Mexicans living abroad.”
• CURP.
• Consular registration with address abroad and in Mexico and, if you do not have this, valid official identification and proof of address in Mexico.
• Registration Form to the Federal Taxpayer Registry through Virtual Office (FOV-I).
The SAT added that from October 1 to date, 1,117 Mexicans abroad with residence in more than 16 countries have registered with the RFC through the Virtual Office, with the United States being the main country with procedures carried out, comprising a total of 42 cities.
