The Communications Services Regulatory Unit (Ursec), reported the number of users who registered in the Do Not Call Record until June 30.
In total there were 234,676 landline and mobile phone numbers that requested registration so as not to be contacted through telecommunications services, such as telephony, SMS, mobile applications or technological platforms, by advertising, offers or gifts of goods or services.
According to information from Ursec, there were 12 companies that inquired about the registry, and 2,555 complaints were received.
The registration or cancellation of the Do Not Call Registry must be carried out by the user or owner of the services through their telephone service operator.
Telephone service operators have up to five days to submit registrations to Ursec. In turn, those who make the contacts must consult the Ursec database prior to carrying out the contact procedures, which will last 30 days from its issuance.
Registration in the National Do Not Call Registry is free.
The registry was created by the 2020 Accountability Act and came into force in April 2022 when it was regulated.
