The National Directorate of Drug Control (DNCD) has seized more than 60,000 kilograms of controlled substances until October of this year, according to what was reported yesterday by the agency.
The most recent statistics indicate that with the support of the Armed forces, Air Forcethe National Army and the Attorney General’s Office, the DNCD managed to seize 27,735 kilograms, equivalent to 27.7 tons of drugs.
Added to these are the confiscations carried out with the cooperation of international authorities in territories like USACanada and some European countries, equal to 33,659 kilograms, for a total of 60,897 kilograms.
However, these shipments do not include the seizures made in the first two weeks of this month, among which the seizure, last Saturday, of 2.2 tons of cocaine in the Multimodal Port Caucedo.
The second largest
In this shipment, coming from Panama, the drugs were camouflaged between clothing and sports shoes and were destined for Belgium. It was described by the authorities as the second largest shipment they seized.
