Santo Domingo.- The National Drug Control Directorate (DNCD) confiscated 57 marijuana packages, in the midst of joint inspection work carried out at the International Airport of the Americas.

The operational equipment verified in one of the deposits, when a canine unit gave a positive alert of controlled substances between the packages and goods, which reached the terminal, from Miami, United States.
On the instructions of the prosecutor, a more rigorous inspection was carried out, finding eight (08) buckets, with 48 packages and a cardboard box with another nine (09), for a total of 57 packages, packed to empty and wrapped in plastic covers .
According to the manifesto, the buckets and boxes were sent by an individual through a company, located in Northwest, Miami, the United States and a woman with alleged residence in La Marginal, Las Américas Highway, Santo Domingo Este.
The Public Ministry and the DNCD carry out the investigations of place around the case, while continuing to reinforce their operational capacity to frustrate the illicit drug trafficking by airports and ports of the country.
