DNCD arrests “El Mono” and seizes 2,700 grams of drugs in Verón

Saint Dominic.- Officials from the National Drug Control Directorate (DNCD) and members of the Public Ministry seized 2,717 grams of different narcoticsin two simultaneous raids, carried out in the municipal district of Verón, La Altagracia province.

During the interventions, carried out on Bellón Street in the Hoyo de Friusa sector and the town of La Ceiba, the agents and prosecutors separately arrested two individuals, from whom they seized 672 grams of alleged cocaine, 1,528 grams of marijuana and several portions of a rock material, which appears to be crack, weighing approximately 516 grams.

Among those arrested are Raul Florentino (The Monkey) and Luis Ramon Friaswho has four records for drug trafficking and is a fugitive since October 2023, for the same crime. Both will be brought to justice in the next few hours.

Also seized were two scales, three cell phones, a 12-gauge shotgun with filed numbers, several cartridges, RD $24, 450 Dominican pesos, US $19 US dollars, a bucket, among other evidence.

He Public Ministry and the DNCD continue to redouble interdiction operations throughout the national territory, as part of their mission to attack, pursue and eradicate drug trafficking throughout the national territory.
