DNCD and MP arrest 853 people and seize 137 kilos of drugs

Agents of the National Directorate of Drug Control (DNCD) and members of the Public Ministrysupported by the National Police, within the framework of strengthening joint actions, carried out 50 raids and more than five thousand interdiction operations against the microtraffic of controlled substances, in much of the national territory.

A note from the anti-drug entity indicates that in operations to eradicate trafficking and sale of drugs, 853 people were arrested and 102,566 grams of cocaine, 30,295 of marijuana, 4,401 doses of crack, 5.10 of methamphetamines, 2.10 grams of heroin and 143 ecstasy pills were seized, for a total of 137,260 grams.

Also, 10 firearms45 machetes and knives, 04 vehicles, 49 motorcycles, 244 cell phones, 09 communication radios, 55 scales and a bulletproof vest, cash, among other evidence.

The document indicates that the DNCD and the Public Ministrywith the support of the National Police, have intensified joint efforts against microtrafficmanaging to take more than 10 million grams of cocaine, marijuana, crack, ecstasy and other substances off the streets in recent months. narcotics.

He adds that during the month of December, operational efforts to confront illicit drug trafficking were reinforced in the Greater Santo Domingo and the provinces La Altagracia, La Romana, San Pedro de Macorís, San Cristóbal, Peravia, Azua, San Juan, Barahona, Santiago, La Vega, Monseñor Nouel, Duarte, Hermanas Mirabal, Espaillat, María Trinidad Sánchez, Sanchez Ramírez and Samaná, among others.
