The Mayor of the National District (DNA) will celebrate the sixth edition of its traditional day of exchange of plastics for toysan initiative that seeks to bring joy to children on the eve of Three Kings’ Day and, at the same time, promote care for the environment.
A source informed Free Diary that the activity will take place at the headquarters of the Municipal Palacelocated in the Los Héroes Center, where participants can exchange plastic bottles for toys.
To participate it will be essential present the identity card that accredits the applicant as resident in the National District. The event is especially aimed at benefiting low-income boys and girls.
The activity aims encourage recycling and prevent plastics from ending up in ravines, rivers or the sea, thus contributing to the environmental protection and to raise citizen awareness about the correct management of solid waste.
How to participate?
According to other editions, to participate in the initiative, the bottles they must be clean, compressed and with their tapas. The process includes:
- Bottle delivery: bottles are received and weighed to calculate the total.
- Ticket delivery: attendees will receive a ticket equivalent to the number of bottles delivered.
- Toy exchange: parents and their children will present the tickets to receive their toys.
