Alcaldía del DN refuerza recogida de desechos con gran operativo que se extenderá durante época navideña

Santo Domingo.- The Mayor’s Office of the National District announced the start of a large waste collection operation on the occasion of Christmas, a time when a greater amount of waste is produced.

The announcement was made at the Municipal Palace by Ana González, head of the Urban Cleaning Directorate, and by Elizabeth Mateo, general secretary of the council, from where they dispatched the trucks to start the extra day.

A total of 68 collection trucks will be added from 6:00 in the afternoon until the early hours of the morning to collect waste in the critical points of the three constituencies that make up the National District.

The initiative, carried out under the mandate of Mayor Carolina Mejía, is part of the council’s efforts to strengthen waste collection throughout the month of December.

The brigades made up of more than 250 collaborators in large and small compactor trucks and dump trucks will be reinforced by an inspection team that monitors compliance with the collection and in turn reports additional needs that each sector has.
