Center Anthony Davis will remain sidelined indefinitely due to the right foot injury he suffered a week ago, according to a medical update offered this Friday by the Los Angeles Lakers.
Davis, one of the two stars of the Lakers along with LeBron Jamessuffered the injury on December 16 during the first quarter of the game against the Denver Nuggets, in which he continued to play until halftime.
US media later estimated that the center would be out around a month but his absence could be longer according to the official report this Friday.
“After extensive consultation with Lakers physicians and outside specialists, it has been determined that Anthony Davis has a stress injury on the right foot,” the franchise said in a statement.
“Davis will be out indefinitely. Further updates will be provided when appropriate,” the text concluded.
Shortly after, ESPN made a more hopeful report, noting that Davis’ foot pain has subsided in recent days and he is expected to be re-evaluated after at least a week off.
