The internal of the National Party in Artigas is going through a moment of tensions due to the presentation of three candidates for the departmental elections. The application of Emiliano Soravilla, promoted by the surroundings of Valentina Dos Santos, joined that of Mateo Ayala, from List 40, and the recent candidacy of Ángela Bianchi, proposed by the Soravilla sector.
On Tuesday, the Departmental Convention of the PN was expected to define the options for the Intendance, but the surprise came with the inclusion of Bianchi, which generated discomfort in the Ayala sector. The latter accused that his sector was harmed by the appearance of this third candidacy, stating that “five conventional.” Ayala clarified that, after the convention, there would be no agreement and that each candidate would continue on their way, without unity plans.
Bianchi, on the other hand, said he did not expect the proposal but that he saw her as a “pride.” Meanwhile, Soravilla explained that the agreement between the different sectors aimed to provide artigenses for three options to choose in the elections, despite the lack of consensus.
The situation reflects an internal division between the sectors of the National Party in Artigas, which could affect its possibilities in the next elections.
