The Ministry of Energy signed an agreement with numerous distributors in the interior of the country to regularize their contractual relationship with the wholesale electricity market company Cammesa, which was joined by Edenor and Edesur.
These are 16 distributors that regularized a total of $210,946 million debt72% of the total liabilities pending regularization as of August 2022, as officially reported.
The Secretary of Energy, Flavia Royon, led the act of signing the agreement with distributors throughout the country, with the aim of cleaning up the commercial relationship with Cammesa, within the framework of the conditions established by article 16 of Decree 88.
“It is a historic day due to the number of agreements that we have signed to regularize the debts with Cammesa; This is key to the sustainability of the system, an aspect that Minister Sergio Massa emphasized from the first moment we started managing it, ”said the Secretary of Energy through a statement.
The normalization of the situation of the distributors is carried out based on the conditions established by the Budget Law 2021which were extended for the current year.
In this norm, differential rates and a moratorium of 96 installments were set to resolve the debt status that the distribution companies had to date.
Likewise, the proposal includes as a condition to normalize, as of 2023, the current generation payment to Cammesa.

On continuity of this mechanismRoyon clarified that “in the new Budget law, article 89 also contemplates the need to order the relationship between the distributors and Cammesa.”
Finally, the secretary highlighted the importance of having reached these agreements and complying with what is stated in the 2021 Budget Law. “This is a fundamental stone for the path of ordering the energy system of our country, which is an objective of the Secretariat,” Royon said.
The event was attended by the Undersecretary of Electrical Energy, Santiago Yanotti; the Undersecretary for Institutional Coordination of Energy, Florencia Álvarez Travieso; the ENRE controller, Walter Martello; the general manager of Cammesa, Sebastián Bonetto, and directors of the distributors throughout the country.
The signatory companies They offer their service in the provinces of Córdoba, Chaco, Mendoza, Misiones, Chubut (Rawson, Trelew and Sarmiento), Zárate (Buenos Aires) and the Metropolitan Area (AMBA).
