Enrique Ramírez, who occupied the General Directorate of Immigration, was appointed consul in Boston, Massachusetts; Cesar Cedeño, who until yesterday was performing the duties of administrator of National Assets and the State Sugar Council, will serve as consul in San Juan Puerto Rico.

The former director of the National Institute of Traffic and Land Transportation (Intrant), Rafael Ernesto Arias Ramírez, was assigned as adviser to the Executive Branch on transportation matters.

President Abinader appointed Ángel Enrique Hernández Castillo as Minister of Education, replacing Fulcar.

The change is contained in decree 414-22.

Hernández Castillo, current rector of the Open University for Adults (UAPA), was born in Jarabacoa, La Vega, on October 1, 1953.

He completed primary and secondary studies in Elías Piña, from where he moved to Santiago to pursue a degree in educational sciences at the Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra (PUCMM).

In Education, Julio Ramón Cordero Espaillat was also appointed as Deputy Minister of Administrative Management, who was also an official during the management of that portfolio in the government of Hipólito Mejía, as Administrative Undersecretary.

“I will assume this commitment to implement the entire traffic, transportation and road safety plan with the determination and transparency that characterizes it,” he said.

Hugo Beras-Goico Ramírez was appointed as the new director of Intrant. From last February until this Wednesday, Beras-Goico Ramírez directed the Transportation Cabinet, where he was appointed after serving as Secretary General of the National District Mayor’s Office since April 2020.

In the General Directorate of Migration (DGM) Venancio Alcántara Valdez was appointed, who until last night was working as manager of intergovernmental management of the General Directorate of Customs (DGA).

The new director of Inposdom is Erick Alberto Michael Guzmán Núñez, who until last night was deputy director of the Dominican Port Authority.
