MIAMI, United States. — The independent Organizing Commission of the Miguel Febles Padrón Letter of the Year released its predictions for 2025 this January 2, which presents notable differences with the Letter of the official Yoruba Cultural Association of Cuba, published the same day.
The independent commission met on December 31 at the Casa Templo de Diez de Octubre 1509, between Josefina and Gertrudis, to carry out the divination ceremony. “This ceremony was carried out with the support of the Ifá priests of the majority of the families of Cuba and their descendants in the world, and as established, the smallest priest brought out the Letter,” points out the text of the independent Yorubas, shared on Facebook.
Among the main alerts of the Letter of the Year 2025 are “dismissals in the workplace and at the highest levels of society”, as well as the increase in child crime and violence. These predictions come after a period marked by crimes that involved minors, including a massive brawl at the Finca de los Monosand by the official admission that adolescents have participated in the consumption and sale of drugs in Cuba.
The ruling sign in the Letter of the independents is Odibre, with Odua as the main divinity and Yewa as a companion. The senior priest of Ifá, Lázaro Cuesta, explained to Martí News that “that sign predicts many things that are favorable”, although he warned that “the things that Ifá predicts are not in the hands of the preaching, much less of its presence, it is in that of the leaders, the presidents, the administrators. of justice, of the economy… those that have to do with the direction of the countries.”
According to the babalawo, “one of the most important things of the century is for people to understand that whims cannot lead to the solution of the problem.”
The document suggests “not repeating procedures that have proven to be obsolete.” Likewise, it advises reinforcing urban hygiene to avoid epidemics, carrying out frequent health checks and adopting “green medicine alternatively.” The text also asks not to mediate debts to avoid tragic endings and recommends that communication be the way to resolve conflicts.
Among the proverbs that accompany the Lyrics include: “Attachment to the past does not reveal present solutions or future plans” and “Resentment hurts more than the dagger.” The document also urges religious practitioners to seek individual guidance from their godparents and notes that, despite any good omens, it will be political and economic leaders who will determine the extent to which predictions will come true.
Although the Yoruba Cultural Association presented its Letter of the Year on the same day and with some specific coincidences, the independents’ version differs in several aspects, such as the ruling deity and the content of its recommendations. The only similarity recognized by both groups lies in the need to “clean up the city” to stop the spread of diseases.
