Dismissal of an indigenous person who had been prosecuted for being a member of the EPP

Jonny Paredes Gauto (21) alias “Derlis” who had been arrested in 2018 in Villeta and accused as a member of the EPP and who would be linked to several criminal acts, today was benefited by Judge Montanía who released him.

“Derlis” was accused by the prosecution as a member of the EPP’s Indigenous Justice Brigade, however today the preliminary hearing was held where the arguments of the Public Ministry were not concrete enough to accuse Paredes Gauto and the magistrate decided to definitively dismiss.

From the prosecution they announced that they are going to appeal the resolution, since for the prosecutors there is enough evidence against Jonny Paredes Gauto, which the judge did not take into account.
