The remains were found this Saturday and Sunday in two storm drains located a few blocks away. On the first day the police arrested a person who gave clues to arrest more people, reported Montevideo Police Chief Mario D’Elía, who led a press conference on Monday.

D’Elía confirmed that the investigators identified the place where the crime was committed. Sources on the case told The Observer this Monday that it is a living place where one worked drug dealer mouth.

The police know that the woman was linked to the group, but still does not know if she had any role, or was simply an acquaintance. “She had contacts with part of the group,” said the police chief.

The deceased of 27 years old had two criminal records; the last of 2020 for attempted robbery especially aggravated. The Observer reported this Monday that now they are looking to know if they killed her for betraying the Segales familynumerous members with drug mafia in Peñarol.

Police understand that two men with ties to the Segales tortured and killed the woman. And then they told two people to discard the bags with the remains.

One of the Segales was charged this Friday for the murder of an 18-year-old, also in Peñarol. The crime occurred on Wednesday, and according to the police, he was not the target.
