Six people were arrested in Barcelona, Anzoátegui state, allegedly for forming a gang dedicated to assaulting people to mutilate their hair.
The procedure was carried out by officials of the Municipal Police (Polibolívar), after receiving a report of a substance victim.
The head of that police force, Commissioner José Ferrer, reported that the officers assigned to the criminal investigation service managed to dismantle a gang of “the piranhas of Valencia” that had been operating for 15 days in the city.
The detainees were identified by Ferrer as Adrián Alonzo León Aponte (28 years old), Arnaldo José Carrillo Bueno (25), Erick Josué Marchan Patiño (27), Alfonzo David León Cordero (25), Emili Roxana Nieves Solorzano (24) and Trina Desirée Perdomo Francisco (21).
He explained that the procedure was carried out after a citizen came to the police headquarters who stated that she had been intercepted by a group of six individuals, four men and two women, on board three motorcycle-type vehicles, offering her clothing items on sale.
According to the complaint, after catching her attention, they threaten to kill her with sharp weapons, such as knives and scissors, and after hitting her on the head, they throw her to the ground, and mutilate part of her hair, and then flee the scene.
Ferrer indicated that after receiving the complaint, a police commission was formed that, accompanied by the victim, went to the scene of the events, managing to locate the alleged criminals on El Progreso street, Portugal Abajo sector of Barcelona, and they were themselves identified by the victim as the aggressors.
He added that, once at the scene, the 6 people were arrested, from whom 52 hair bows, 4 hair thinning scissors, 2 measuring tapes of 1.50 meters, 1 bag of green hair ties, 4 cell phones were seized; one Infinix brand, 2 Xiaomi Redmi and an iPhone 3.
Likewise, three Empire Keeway brand motorcycles were seized, one Express II model, Blue color, AMSB12N plates, year 2026; another RK200 model, Black color, AM9A17N plates, year 2026; and the third model Horse 150, black, plates A12U79N, year 2026.
The nursery said that the Public Prosecutor’s Office was notified of this procedure, leaving the detainees under the orders of this judicial instance awaiting the respective legal process.
