The Minister of Education (MEC), Camilo Santana, informed on Sunday night (10) that the release of the official answer sheet for the National High School Exam (Enem) will be brought forward. The forecast was to release the template on November 20th, but the minister said it will be released this week.
According to the minister, the National Institute of Educational Studies and Research Anísio Teixeira (Inep), responsible for administering the exam, will inform the new date.
According to the schedule, the final delivery of the results is scheduled for January 13, 2025.
This Sunday (10), students carried out the tests of natural sciences (physics, chemistry and biology) and their technologies and mathematics. Last Sunday (3), the first day of the tests, candidates asked questions on languages and human sciences.
Presence and abstention
On the second day of the test, this Sunday (10), 69.4% of candidates attended. The percentage is lower than those present on the first day of tests (73.4%).
Abstention on the second day was 30.6%, higher than the first day of tests (26.6%) and slightly lower compared to the second day of tests in 2023 (32%).

There was also an increase in the number of high school graduates from public schools. The number jumped from 58% (1.1 million) last year to 94% (1.6 million) this year.
“This was an effort made by the ministry, I have no doubt because of the impact of the nest egg program. For students in their third year, registration is free. Enem is the gateway to higher education and to access to all state and federal public policies”, highlighted the minister.

The tests will be reapplied on December 10th and 11th. There will only be one reapplication of Enem 2024 tests.
What is Enem for?
Enem assesses students’ academic performance at the end of basic education. Over more than two decades of existence, Enem has become the main gateway to higher education in Brazil, through the Unified Selection System (Sisu) and initiatives such as the University for All Program (Prouni).
Public and private educational institutions use Enem to select students. The results are used as a sole or complementary criterion for selection processes, in addition to serving as a parameter for access to government aid, such as that provided by the Student Financing Fund (Fies).
Individual Enem results can also be used in the selection processes of Portuguese institutions that have an agreement with Inep to accept exam scores. The agreements guarantee easy access to grades for Brazilian students interested in pursuing higher education in Portugal.
