Disabled 16,086 weapons seized by the FANB

This Wednesday, a total of 16,086 weapons seized in security operations of the National Armed Forces (FANB) and other citizen security agencies were disabled; informed the Minister of Interior Relations, Justice and Peace, Remigio Ceballos.

The deactivation of weapons seeks to “strengthen the fight against crime in the national territory and contribute to coexistence in solidarity for life and peace,” said Ceballos.

In this sense, Ceballos explained that the weapons went through a process of destruction and smelting, in order to produce housing construction material.

He stressed that, from 2003 to date, approximately 515,511 firearms have been destroyed.

“We are advancing guided by the Plan de la Patria 2019-2025 and the Great Quadrants of Peace Mission, promoting policies for the control of weapons, ammunition and disarmament, which has allowed the destruction of more than 515 thousand 511 firearms from 2003 to the present day. date More life, less weapons!”, he wrote on his Twitter account.

The actions were coordinated with the Public Ministry.
