Cardona told the press that the electricity supply service may be affected during the winter.
He explained that the information comes from a report he requested in January, when a greater number of blackouts was found due to the heat wave, and the response to his request for a report, which came many months later, is “worrying.”
He said that the line of UTE technicians speaks of the fact that the company is in a “critical” situation in terms of materials that have to do with the heart of the autonomous entity, such as transformers and medium voltage cables. He remarked that mention is made of a situation of “almost stock breakage”.
Bad management
“It’s very serious. It had been a long time since we had this type of reports in UTE and this speaks of poor management. When we ask in the Board how we are going to solve these issues, because cold peaks will come and UTE cannot be without transformers or cables, there is no explanation from the directors of the ruling party,” Cardona said.
