Despite receiving less budget than in the last administration, the Social Assistance Plan of the Presidencyheaded by Yadira Henriquez Aid to people in vulnerable conditions has tripled.
Details about the scope and impact of the programs they develop were offered by the official, during her participation in the Weekly Lunch of the Corripio Communications Group.

Contrary to the previous modality that called for people to line up, generating crowds and chaos, now food is taken to the neighborhoods and distributed house by house, guaranteeing the dignity of the beneficiaries.

Likewise, Henríquez offered guarantees of the quality of the food that is distributed. “We are very meticulous and spend a lot of time reviewing products. A product that has a moth does not enter our warehouse because it is easier to prevent it from entering than having to clean it up later, ”he said.
The package includes products such as rice, oil, pasta, beans, coffee, evaporated milk, powdered milk, seasoning, sugar, sardines and cereal.
In Greater Santo Domingo they have five points (Haina, Omsa, Polvorín, Parque de los Trinitarios and Escuela Brasil) where every month, through a program called “La familia del plan” they make fixed deliveries to older adults and people with special conditions, he explained.
Similarly, he made reference to aid plans for churches, non-profit foundations, nursing homes, among other organizations.
He also spoke about medical assistance and the delivery of electrical appliances. The official participated in the lunch, in the company of Amber Sotolegal consultant and Antonio Viloriofrom the Finance Department.
Budget
When they arrived at the institution in August 2020, the payroll amounted to RD$16 million. However, he specified there were several “payrolls”, one of them, was around five million pesos. All were eliminated and the number of employees was made transparent.
That explains why today there is only one payroll with 664 employees for an amount of RD$18 million. The budget allocation for the current year exceeds three billion pesos, he reported.
