Director of the Liceo Augusto D’Halmar de Ñuñoa is dismissed after administrative proceedings for violation of student rights

After several weeks of investigation, the mayoress of the Ñuñoa commune, Emilia Ríos (RD), confirmed the dismissal of the director of the Liceo Augusto D’Halmar for 28 years, Jaime Andrade, after an administrative summary was carried out in which several infractions were found at his expense.

According to La Tercera, among the infractions is the violation of the rights of students regarding the determination of promotion and/or repetition, discrimination in the enrollment process, and the lack of probity and serious breach of duties. In addition, the investigation indicated that the head of the Technical Pedagogical Unit of the establishment, his wife, Justa Zubia, should also be dismissed.

The proceedings began after receiving 10 claims and complaints against former director Andrade, related to violations of student rights. The investigation was carried out by a designated prosecutor, who gathered information through interviews, testimonies, and concrete facts, which ultimately led to the dismissal of Andrade and Zubia.

It should be noted that Andrade’s defense has denied the accusations against him, arguing that the summary is “illegal” and “unconstitutional” and that the accusations against him are “gratuitous” and “without evidence.” The general inspector of the establishment, Luis Poblete, was dismissed at the end of the investigation.
