The director of the Cicpc, general commissioner Douglas Rico, issued instructions to proceed with criminal work at the site where Daniel Lezama (22) was murdered, an event that occurred last Thursday.
Through a video broadcast on his networks, Rico stressed that it was “a cowardly way” that led to Lezama’s death. For this fact, six officials of the Cicpc-Nueva Esparta were arrested.
Lezama was shot by a Cicpc agent when he was in Carúpano (Sucre) inside a restaurant.
Rico attributed the fact to “bad police practices” which “I will not allow”, according to his words. “We must guarantee people’s lives,” he said.
The police chief revealed that upon seeing the video showing the Cicpc official shooting Lezama, he telephoned the attorney general, Tarek William Saab, to request the appointment of a representative from the Public Ministry to investigate the incident.
