The governor of Tocantins, Wanderlei Barbosa, removed the director and military police officers from the Colégio Militar Euclides Bezerra Gerais, in Paranã, south of the state, after the repercussion of a video that shows students marching and singing a song with violent content. The dismissal was published in an edition of the Official Gazette this Thursday (21), the state government said in a note. In the video, a police officer says the phrase out loud, which is repeated in chorus by the marching uniformed students, in the form of a lectern.
“As soon as he learned about the case, the governor of Tocantins, Wanderlei Barbosa, ordered the Military Police (PMTO) to immediately remove the director of the school institution and other military personnel involved from school activities, in addition to demanding that the case be investigated and that all the appropriate measures are taken, in accordance with the legal and disciplinary procedures of the institution. In relation to the State Department of Education (Seduc), it was determined to establish an investigation commission, to investigate the situation and ensure that this is the case. occurrence is not repeated,” the government said in a statement.
The verses sung by the students included phrases clearly condoning violence:

According to state management, the episode is being considered an isolated case, which does not reflect the reality of militarized schools in the state.
