Juan Villalba was summoned to give his version of what happened with the SET officials to the Municipal Board of Asunción. The call is set for 11 in the morning.
In an interview with 730 AM, Villalba once again affirmed that he was mistreated by SET officials and that for this reason he expelled them from Market 4 when they were conducting checks on the merchants.
The context is as follows; Last Thursday, December 5, on the eve of Three Kings Day, officials from the Undersecretary of State for Taxation (SET) were carrying out formal checks on merchants, when at one point they were forced to leave at the request of Juan Villalba, director of the crowded mall, visibly upset. In other words, the SET officials were kicked out of the place.
Because of this, the SET filed a formal complaint against Villalba.
“I receive complaints from permit holders about mistreatment by SET officials. I also receive the report from my operational chief who was also mistreated. A little later I meet the SET officials and I am also mistreated. So that is where you can see that I tell them that they come to my house, they treat me badly, they treat people badly, we are not here to be treated like that. You are nobody, who are you to interrupt our operation, is what they told me when I approached, my question was normal, ”he said.
More than 300 merchants and some 35,000 visitors came to Market 4 that Thursday
