Direct flights between Cuba and Ecuador announced

Quito and Havana will have direct flights from the coming month of July, according to confirmed to the agency Latin Press (PL) Diplomatic sources on the island.

The report anticipates that as of July 12, the newly created airline Ecuador will begin test trips with two weekly frequencies between the capitals of both countries. The information does not specify the days.

The ships would have capacity for 50 passengers, as published by the Cuban embassy on social networks.

The tour operators Lark Tour, FrinTravel and K.T. Nova they have prepared tourist packages to enjoy destinations such as Havana, Varadero, Cayo Santa María and also options for health tourism, one of the points promoted by the Cuban Government.

Currently there are no direct flights between Ecuador and the island, so the materialization of this air route will promote tourism and help strengthen ties between the two countries, the report says.

Ecuacondor is an airline established in 2017 that began dealing with domestic flights. Its operations center is located in the city of Guayaquil, according to the information provided by its website.

The Cuban Government intends to receive this year some 3.5 million touristsdouble the number that arrived in the country in 2022.
