The arrests were made in two separate operations. The Directorate Against Terrorism (Dircote) of the Peruvian National Police (PNP) reported today, in a press conference, on the arrest, in the VRAEM, of three terrorist criminals who are members of the Shining Path.

In a live broadcast of Peru21via Facebook Live, the head of Dircote, General Julio Óscar Mariño Ripa, said that the first capture was of Hugo Gustavo Ramos Campos, alias ‘Comrade Gustavo or Wilder’, who is the son of ‘David’ and ‘Dora’.
He is a full member and fourth full member of the terrorist organization Sendero Luminoso, self-proclaimed militarized Communist Party of Peru (MLMX), which operates in the VRAEM.
The capture took place on July 9, in the native community CC.NN. Cubantía, jurisdiction of the district of San Martín de Pangoa, province of Satipo, Junín region.
There, in that area, they managed to locate ‘Gustavo’ a ‘Wilder’, who also joined the guerrilla of ‘Fernando’ or ‘Viejo’, in the jurisdiction of Vizcatán.
He participated in an ambush of members of the Army in 2022.

The second capture was in Huancavelica. The two terrorists arrested are Avilio Rojas Soto (30) and Angel Pablo Hinostroza Lados (25), alias ‘Chicopez’.
According to the head of Dircote, both were captured when they were traveling on a motorcycle and a silver Hi Lux pickup truck.
Upon searching the property, police officers found a Browning CZ83 pistol, PMC brand, serial number A488326, with a magazine containing 13 3.80-caliber rounds of ammunition; a Glock 19 pistol with ten 9×19-millimeter rounds of ammunition; four 380-caliber rounds of ammunition; three BPM75 brand pine cone-type grenades; 14 380-caliber rounds of ammunition; four rifle cartridges; 96 7.62 x 51-millimeter rounds of ammunition; a balaclava; and a Motorola brand radio.
According to Dircote, ‘Chicopez’ would be the link between Shining Path and drug trafficking organizations in Pucacolpa, Canayre-Huanta-Ayacucho (VRAEM).
He would also be in charge of delivering money, food, weapons and ammunition to Sendero.
He received —Dircote adds— ideological and political instruction from ‘José’, ‘Silvia’, ‘Julio Pukañahui’ and ‘Vilma’, members of Sendero.
