Santo Domingo.– The president Luis Abinaderin coordination with the United States Department of Statecarries out diplomatic negotiations with the authorities of Guinea to seek the release of the pilots detained since last December 28, among them the Dominican Fabio Nicolás Espinal Núñez33 years old. The information was confirmed by the president of the National Association of Pilots of the Dominican Republic (ANP), Eugenio Marchena.
Espinal Núñez and the American Bradley Scott Schlenke63 years old, were arrested in the city of Conakry after being accused of violating Guinean airspace during a technical stop for refueling. They both flew a private plane. Gulfstream GIV that transported a Brazilian family from Surinam toward Dubai and, according to their representatives, they maintained communication with air traffic controllers before landing.

The lawyers managed to get an appeals court to order his provisional releasewhile the judicial process continues, under the condition that they remain in the country and appear periodically before the authorities. Relatives of the Dominican pilot and the ANP maintain that the accusation is unfounded, as it was a flight that would have complied with international protocols. Meanwhile, the Dominican authorities continue to monitor the case through diplomatic channels, insisting on respect for the due process already the human rights.
