The general secretary of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello, announced that they will hold a vigil to remember the month of the capture of Nicolás Maduro and Cilia Flores
The general secretary of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello, assured that 895 people have been released from prison since November of last year.
«895 people have left between November and this month. That was started by Nicolás Maduro. We made a file for each of the cases and decisions were made on December 24 and 31. The thing is that we don’t make a fuss about it,” Cabello said during a press conference this Monday, February 2.
Cabello implied that the cases of people who received precautionary measures were not made known to the media because “we (authorities) do not make a fuss about it. No, we don’t make a show about that. “We have never done it.”
Since last January 8, when the president of the National Assembly, Jorge Rodríguez, announced that the authorities decided to release a significant number of political prisoners, the NGO Foro Penal has managed to confirm only 344, a figure well below those announced by Diosdado Cabello.
This same organization stated that there are 687 detainees in the country for political reasons.

The relatives of political prisoners remain constantly vigil outside the detention centers awaiting the release of their loved ones.
In reference to the Amnesty Law project, he said that “the amnesty law has to do with the review of the judicial situation of some people who, without a doubt, have committed crimes and reprehensible acts,” but did not specify who they are.
He pointed out that “every amnesty law has a list” and that a “review” of cases will be carried out, “according to the crimes,” to identify “those who may be subject to that benefit.”
«It has to do with coexistence, with peace, tranquility, it is not a page to turn and forget everything. “There will be beneficiaries and there will be non-beneficiaries,” he added.
On the other hand, the Minister of the Interior, Justice and Peace also reported that for this Tuesday, January 3, the day that marks one month since the capture of Nicolás Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, by the US authorities, the PSUV will hold a vigil. He also announced that on Wednesday, February 4, when 34 years have passed since the attempted coup d’état by Hugo Chávez, they will hold a rally and march.
