Dinorah Figuera says that AN assumes a “core commitment” to dispartisan assets

Dinorah Figuera, the new president of the AN in 2015, maintained that the AN will seek to rebuild international relations, but there will be no diplomatic corps since it is not a new interim government. She said that the designation and / or ratification of representatives who will work ad honorem to fulfill roles in the international arena is expected.


The new president of the National Assembly (AN) of 2015, Dinorah Figuera, He reiterated that this instance will designate an executive commission made up of qualified technicians and professionals to guarantee the transparent and efficient management of the assets.

In this sense, he pointed out that this commission must report to the entire NA on the assets.

“Until today, what has guaranteed the protection of assets are the provisions of the allied governments, the so-called licences. Otherwise, the creditors would have already taken those assets seized by the Maduro regime,” said Figuera, this Saturday, January 7, in a press release.

The also leader of First Justice (PJ) who will hold the Presidency of the opposition AN from exile, pointed out that they have the “core commitment” to dispartisan the assets, that is why they will insist on controls and accountability.

“We are going to request audits, because we are the first interested in the management of these assets being transparent,” he said.

Likewise, Dinorah Figuera maintained that the AN will seek to rebuild international relations, but there will be no diplomatic corps since it is not a new interim government.

“Here what is wanted is to put all efforts into producing a free election that will lead us to the exit of the regime,” he said.

At the same time, he said that the designation and/or ratification of representatives who will work ad honorem to fulfill roles in the international arena is expected.

“For us it is important to guarantee that the more than 7 million migrants have mechanisms that allow them to regularize their immigration status and initiatives that support them,” said Figuera.

He specified that he is not planning to open a liaison office in the United States. In this sense, he said that the articulation with international allies will be through the AN and the Unitary Platform.

Figuera, who called to work for the opposition unit, said that in this new stage he will seek to position the AN from exile through work with political parties, civil society, the international community and those who from the government of Nicolás Maduro want change.

«The Assembly, as I have said, must help that this plan of struggle that is coming have all the strength and help us achieve the objective that is the end of the dictatorship. To do this, we must have the support and legitimacy of all those who want the end of this regime,” the leadership said.

He urged an end to the disqualifications of recent weeks, the controversies and the “fratricidal fight”. In this way, he stressed: «We must be above the small fight, the country demands it of us. Let’s not fall for accusations and accusations. We are all in the same boat, rowing in the same direction. Our adversary is in Miraflores».
